With members in more than 210 countries and territories and member assets of $3.2 billion, the United Nations Federal Credit Union (UNFCU) is one of the most dynamic financial services cooperatives in the world. IridiumGroup has been a strategic partner on UNFCU’s digital initiatives, applying branded content across all channels for promotional campaigns and delivering unique, dynamic microsites for the organization’s annual report.

Email Campaigns
IridiumGroup regularly designs and builds promotional email campaigns for UNFCU, working with the organization’s business lines to highlight new product offerings and drive traffic to special offers on the website. These campaigns must engage and maximize the reader’s attention while simultaneously remaining true to the humanity and authenticity of the UNFCU brand. IridiumGroup employs CSS, HTML5, and fallback-technologies to ensure high readability and a seamless user experience across various email clients such as Outlook, Apple Mail, and Google Mail in both desktop and mobile versions. The templates are carefully coded to ensure cross-platform compatibility, and copy is checked for spam compliancy to ensure deliverability. Each email campaign is designed to complement a campaign microsite, providing a recognizable multi-channel marketing effort to promote the campaign offering.

Annual Report Microsites
UNFCU’s global member base requires a digital platform that works effectively across different markets, browsers, devices, and geographies. Because of this, the UNFCU Annual Report is developed as both an interactive website and a downloadable digital document to facilitate member access and report distribution.

A key objective of the annual report microsites developed by IridiumGroup was to create a pleasurable user experience while reading what could otherwise be white-paper content. By employing smooth scrolling and lightweight JavaScript screen transitions, our team created the effect of “layers” being uncovered as the user explored the content. Moreover, to ensure the global audience was able to view the annual report without issue, full QA testing was executed on all principal web browsers and versions going back 10 years to accommodate developing countries that tend to have older software.

The accompanying digital document allows UNFCU to place the annual report content in a portable “offline” format while maintaining the same look, feel, and branding. This was achieved by flattening the interactive annual report (rather than translating flat into interactive) while keeping the file size below 5MB in a highly usable PDF format. The agency achieved a primary goal of differentiating UNFCU from traditional banks, thereby promoting the advantages and exclusivity of membership.
