IridiumGroup assisted The Nature Conservancy over the course of a long, successful partnership that began with our relaunch of the organization’s member publication, Nature Conservancy. With over one million members in more than 35 countries, The Nature Conservancy is the leading conservation organization in the world.
After a thoughtful phase of research and strategic planning, IridiumGroup presented various elements of the visual brand to the client team. Above all, we aimed to develop an expression of the brand that could resonate through a more emotional appeal, one that would incorporate elements of natural environment and the passion to preserve our resources.
Photography studies were conducted to better understand the most effective type of imagery for the brand. We distilled the typography and colors into a simple, elegant system that could project the messaging and content of the organization clearly and showcase all imagery in a compelling and visually arresting manner.
The signature logo and tagline were updated to communicate the tenets and mission of ecological preservation. Ultimately, the system was complemented by usage guidelines coupled with meaningful brand messages to inspire local chapters to embrace the new system. A dramatic “inspiration wall” reflecting preferred images and key tenets of the organization was designed for the lobby of the organization’s headquarters in Arlington, Virginia.
